Nico turns 8

We've been in Bogota, Colombia for almost one month. Nico has transitioned well to a new environment, he's adopted a new routine and is training a new caregiver, Sra. Carmen. We will have an evaluation for setting up his education program and therapies with the therapeutic clinic Anthiros We visited recently and saw that they employ some of the same symbol/picture elements in the classroom, and the therapy room is similarly situated to Nico's previous school, Arcola ES. Anthiros has at least two other participants with Angelman Syndrome, so they seem to know the drill. I'm optimistic.

the plane flight was torturous for all involved -- there were delays, Nico doesn't like to sit still for 15 minutes much less two 4 hour stretches. Headphones helped, but they were not up to Nico-code and were dismantled by the end of the flight.

Nico is enjoying taking his dog for walks, going to the many parks near our apartment, and we recently had bolts installed in the walls in his bedroom so we can hang his hamaca He loves that hammock.

Nico had 'Peeps' on his birthday cake! He was psyched!
